Location. Perched on the crest of a peninsula slopping down to a crystal blue lagoon and a vibrant coral reef, Le Cap Est Lagoon Resort & Spa is located just outside the village of Le Francois, on the eastern coastline of the French Caribbean island of Martinique.
Hotel Features. A verdant luxury resort surrounding a turquoise lagoon, Le Cap Est Lagoon Resort & Spa features a Japanese spa with marble floors, bamboo walls, and soothing green shades. The spa offers Guerlain treatments, algae baths, Hamman, ice water pool, balneotherapy, hydrotherapy, and massage treatments. Guests can sip tropical cocktails on the sunloungers surrounding the lagoon view infinity pool or on lounge chairs on the private, white sand beach.

A complimentary breakfast is available. Overlooking the lagoon, Le Cohi Bar has a lounge ambience complimented by over a hundred vintage rums and a cigar cellar. Le Campeche lagoon restaurant serves Creole cuisine for lunch and dinner and Le Belem opens for dinner and has a formal atmosphere.

A water sports centre is situated on the beach and offers windsurfing, sea kayaks, catamarans, and complimentary diving equipment. Additionally, guests can play tennis on the resort s floodlit court or rent motor boats to visit the surrounding islands and coves.

Guestrooms. An Asia design dominates the 50 air conditioned suites at Le Cap Est Lagoon Resort. Natural textiles such as exotic woods and abaca fabrics compliment the surrounding scenery and travel rugs made with hand woven madras decorate the floors. Teak terraces extend from the suites and additional amenities include plasma televisions with satellite channels, DVD and CD players, minibars, and safes. The bathrooms feature stone pediments and include complimentary toiletries, bathrobes, and slippers. The hotel offers half board rates.

Getting there. Hiring a car is the easiest way to reach the resort. Taxis are available and cost 38 EUR to the hotel, however, there is a 40 percent surcharge between at night, weekends, and public holidays. The hotel can organise transfers for a surcharge. Price subject to change.

Getting around. Hiring a car is recommended for seeing the scenery around the hotel and the rest of Martinique. Public transport is very limited, although there are a few buses marked TC (Taxi Collectifs) with the destinations marked on the front window. These buses begin and end in Forte de France and cost approximately 5 9 EUR to destinations around the island. Price subject to change.
