Location. The Mare Nostrum Hotel Club is located on the bay of Vravrona, Greece, directly on a sandy beach, and withing five kilometres of the Temple of Artemis. The hotel is 11 kilometres from the airport and 15 kilometres from the port of Rafina.
Hotel Features. Surrounded by gardens, the Mare Nostrum hotel is built in typical Greek style and consists of one main building and blocks of bungalows. There is an outdoor pool with additional childrens pool and extensive Thalasso spa services. These include an indoor heated pool, a hammam, an affusion shower, and bubbling bath. Treatments include massage, body treatments, beauty treatments and reflexology. There is also a fitness area and a hair salon. Other hotel amenities include room service and tour assistance.
The Nefeli restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves Greek and International buffet meals. The Orfeas bar in the lobby opens onto a terrace overlooking the sea. The pool bar serves Greek snacks and salads. A buffet breakfast and dinner is included for half board guests and a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner is included for full board guests.
The hotel offers regular entertainment which includes traditional Greek barbecues, live international music and Greek dancing. There are also organised games, Greek lessons and theatre shows. Sports activities include aerobics, gymnastics, aqua gym and pentanque. There is a kids club from June 10 to September 1.
Guestrooms. There are 352 rooms built over six floors painted in warm colours complemented by rustic style Greek furniture and bright, contemporary paintings. All rooms open out onto balconies with views of the sea, pool or mountains and include safes, televisions, and refrigerators. The hotel offers half board and full board room rates.
Expert Tip. Slightly out of the way, the Temple of Artemis is a quiet, less visited temple than most and all the more attractive for it. The views from it are uninterrupted by anything modern and even the little museum is discreetly hidden.
