Location. The Hotel LAtrachjata is a relaxing holiday base located in Aleria, midway between Bastia and Porto Vecchio on the east coast of Corsica, France. It stands on the banks of the River Tavignano opposite a sailing centre, just three kilometres from the Tyrrhenian beaches of the Costa Serena and five kilometres from the lake known as LEtang de Diana. Alerias archaeological museum lies 1.5 kilometres away in the town centre.
Hotel Features. LAtrachjata is a lemon and white building in the local style. A Mediterranean air pervades its tiled terraces set with plants in large terracotta pots. In the lobby, wall mirrors reflect an oriental rug, leather armchairs and a wooden settle, and theres an additional sitting room. The four storey building is fully air conditioned and has a lift. Wireless Internet access is available downstairs (surcharge).
LAtrachjatas dark wood bar, open early till late, serves breakfast (surcharge) and light snacks.
A small meeting room caters for groups of up to 16.
The hotel rents out bicycles, while boating and water sports are available by the river and at local beaches, along with riding, fishing and tennis.
Guestrooms. The Atrachjatas 29 guestrooms, mostly decorated in pastel blues or greens, have matching, marble tiled bathrooms. All rooms have towel heaters, safes and minibars.
Expert Tip. Aleria is famous for its regional food products. Oysters, legendary since Roman times, develop in the shallow lagoon called the Etang de Diana. One of the best places to sample oysters is at the lakeshore restaurant, Aux Coquillages de Diane (booking recommended).

Distance to the LAtrachjata Hotel is 55 kilometres, approximately 45 minutes drive.
Getting there. The hotel operates a minibus transfer service from the airport by prior arrangement (surcharge). Aleria is on the Porto Vecchio bus route from central Bastia, however services are infrequent.
Getting around. Buses link the islands major towns, including Aleria, but a hire car is by far the best way of touring the island in any detail. Guests may use the hotel minibus as a taxi service on request (surcharge), and rent bicycles on site.
Driving directions. From Bastia Airport, head south on the RN198 towards Aleria.
After about 50 kilometres you will pass a lake called the Etang de Diana on your left.
Five kilometres further on, you will approach a major crossroads.
The Atrachjata Hotel stands at the junction of the RN198 and the N200, on the north eastern side, just before you cross the river and enter the town of Aleria.
