Location.Doryssa Seaside Resort, on the island of Samos, is built in a traditionally Greek style and comprises a hotel, a village of bungalows and a square with shops. Pythagario, a typical Samiot village, is 800 metres from the hotel, and the Eupalinos Water Tunnel, built around 520 BC, is seven kilometres away. Samos Airport is two kilometres distance, an approximate driving time of five minutes.
Hotel Features. The hotel has a range of shops including a pottery, a mini market and a hair salon. There is an Olympic size outdoor pool with a poolside bar, and a childrens playground. A variety of water sports are available at the adjacent beach, and there is also a gym, a floodlit tennis court, a jetted tub and a sauna. There is wireless Internet access and free parking for those arriving by car.
Hotel Restaurant Doryssa serves European and Greek food in a buffet style, and the Village Restaurant Doryssa serves local specialities including fresh fish, and European dishes. There is also the Kohili Snack Bar which offers light meals and drinks by the pool.
Guestrooms. The 308 guestrooms, over two floors, have light decor, functional furnishings, tiled floors and balconies. All are equipped with satellite television, direct dial phones, air conditioning, refrigerators and hair dryers.
Expert Tip. Hire a car for a day (surprisingly cheap on Samos) and drive around the island along the coast. The scenery and the views are magnificent, and the trip will take less than a day, even with frequent stops.
