Location. The Grand Hotel Il Saraceno is located on the beach in Amalfi, Italy, three kilometres from the centre of town, 12 kilometres from shopping in Positano, and 50 kilometres from Pompei.
Hotel Features. Set in the cliff face overlooking the Mediterranean, this hotel is spread over seven terraced levels and decorated in a classic Italian style with dark wooden furniture and Moorish ceramic flooring. The hotel offers a private area on the beach, with beach chairs and sun umbrellas. A saltwater swimming pool is also available with views over the sea. Wireless Internet can be accessed throughout the hotel and complimentary parking is offered.
Grand Hotel Il Saraceno offers two restaurants. The main restaurant is situated in a tent, and opens for lunch and dinner from April to October; regional dishes are served, and there is an emphasis on seafood. The Castle Restaurant, located in an 11th century castle on the beach, is open for lunch from July to September. There is also a beachside bar. Guests receive complimentary breakfasts, which can be eaten on a terrace overlooking the sea.
Boating trips can be arranged on site and scooter hire is also available from the hotel.
Guestrooms. With elaborate antique style furniture complemented by simple white decor, the 62 guestrooms all feature sea views. In room amenities include wireless Internet access, satellite television, minibars, and safes, and most rooms have balconies.

Getting there. The Alibus shuttle leaves every 30 minutes for Piazza Municipio and Naples central station (Stazione Centrale). Tickets cost 3 EUR. Trains link Naples to Salerno, where there is bus service to Amalfi. Hydrofoils and ferries sail to the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento, and the islands of Ischia and Capri from Naples Port (at the bottom of Piazza Municipio). Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Amalfi can be explored easily on foot. A network of buses connects the town with others along the coast. A car is recommended for exploring further afield.
