Location. The Summerland Waterfront Resort boasts a secluded waterfront location on Okanagan Lake, two kilometers from downtown Summerland, B.C., Canada. The resort is adjacent to Kinsmen Park, which offers playground equipment and picnic tables. Boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing are available on the lake. Summerlands downtown offers an Olde English themed Main Street, and the area is home to five local wineries.
Features. Dining is available at this resorts bistro, which serves baked goods, freshly made sandwiches, espresso drinks, locally ground coffee and international teas. Meeting and catering facilities, which open to an outdoor patio, are capable of accommodating up to 125 attendees, and offer natural lighting and updated equipment. Complimentary wireless Internet is provided in public areas. A year round heated outdoor pool with a hot tub and a fitness center with a steam room all overlook the lake. Babysitting services are available for a fee.
Guestrooms. Suites at the Summerland Waterfront Resort offer full kitchens and separate living and dining areas. Over three quarters of the guestrooms overlook Okanagan Lake. All guestrooms feature fireplaces and furnished balconies. Soaker tubs are provided in the bathrooms, and bathrobes are included. Beds are outfitted with 300 thread count sheets and down duvets. Cable television and DVD players are standard.
Expert Tip. Okanagan Lake is home to Ogopogo, an infamous and elusive snake like water creature said to live on the lakes bottom. Okopogo remains an integral part of British Colombian folklore, though its actual existence is questionable. Physical proof is limited to blurry photographs and film.
