Location. Luna Holiday Complex is a family run summer apartment resort overlooking the sea, 300 metres from a sandy beach and one kilometre from the village of Mellieha. Malta International Airport is 20 kilometres away, and takes about 45 minutes to reach by car.
Hotel Features.Hotel facilities include dial up Internet connections, currency exchange and a mini market, and the front desk is open 24 hours and has multilingual staff. Luna Holiday Complex also has two swimming pools (seasonal), one on the roof with sea views, as well as a gym, room service, live music, theme nights and barbeques.
Luna Complexs Orion Restaurant has an informal atmosphere and serves la carte and set menus featuring Mediterranean and European dishes. There are also two bars: the Twilight Cocktail Bar which has terrace seating and shows sports events on a large screen cable television, and Don Tonino Coffee Shop which serves a variety of hot and cold soft and alcoholic drinks, as well as a selection of light snacks and pastries. A poolside bar is also open during summer months.
Guestrooms. The 158 guestrooms and apartments are located on five floors and have light, modern decor and patterned fabrics. All extend to balconies with sea or country views and include direct dial phones, safes, kitchenettes with gas cookers, electric ovens and refrigerators, and bathrooms with showers.
Expert Tip. Two kilometres from the hotel is the set of the 1980s film, Popeye, where a ramshackle collection of buildings make up the city of Sweethaven. The fictional town was originally built using thousands of planks, eight tons of nails and 2000 gallons of paint. The set still attracts a considerable amount of visitors, with Popeye related shows regularly taking place for the tourists.
