Getting there. Taxis are available at the airport and the fare to the hotel is typically 40 EUR. The best way to get around Crete is by rental car or bike, although buses go to most places throughout the island. The Cretan bus company KTEL has stations in all the larger cities and stops all along the routes. Many locations are also accessible by ferry and boat taxi. Taxis in Crete are reasonable but visitors should make sure the driver uses the meter.
