Formerly the home of the British Consul General in Madeira, Henry Veitch, the Hotel Quinta Jardim da Serra is an 18th century family residence located in a valley overlooking the Atlantic Ocean nine miles from the town of Funchal. The 51 air conditioned guestrooms have contemporary decor with cherry wood furniture lead onto fully furnished verandas with views of the gardens. The hotel is set within 50,000 square metres of botanical gardens with large, century old trees and rare and exotic plants. The Greenvalley restaurant, which offers a selection of modern French dishes, is complemented by the 24 hour room service. Guests can work out in the gymnasium then relax with a massage before going for a fruit juice in the Miamo Bar, or a cocktail at Henrys Bar. The conference room can accommodate up to 60 delegates and may also be used for cocktails or private dinners. The Island of Madeira has many areas of natural beauty, several of which are within 10 kilometres of the hotel.
