Getting there. Fixed rate taxis run between the airport and towns across the island. Fares are approximately 6 MTL to the capital Valletta, 8 MTL to St Julians, Attard and Sliema, and 10 MTL to Bugibba and Qawra. Pre paid tickets can be purchased from the taxi desk at Arrivals and the fare to the hotel is approximately 35 EUR. Bus number 8 runs between the airport and Vallettas main bus terminus every 20 minutes. For travel to Gozo, visitors should travel to the port by taxi, and then take a catamaran or ferry. The journey time is approximately 30 minutes. There is a heliport at the airport for helicopter flights to Gozo. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. A network of buses connects Malta to the main resorts. A day bus pass costs 1.50 MTL. A car is recommended for exploring further afield. Gozo is easily explored by bicycle, on foot, or on bus. High speed catamarans and ferries operate between Gozo and Malta (Valletta).
