Hotel Features. The ultra modern interior of the Apex City Hotel Edinburgh, which opened in 2002, leads off the medieval cobbled streets of the Grassmarket. Leather and steel armchairs are dotted around the lobby, which offers views of the castle through large windows.
The long Agua Bar and Restaurant serves Scottish specialities such as mille feuille of Highland game casserole; the restaurants crustacea bar offers fresh seafood. Charcoal coloured banquettes line the walls, with broad dining chairs on the other side of the tables. For breakfast, guests can choose from a continental buffet or cooked Scottish breakfast. Drinks and light dishes are served in the adjoining bar area.
Complimentary wireless Internet is available throughout the hotel and there are three conference rooms for up to 70 people.

Getting there. Airlink 100 operates express bus services to the city centre. Buses run every 10 minutes and depart from the bus station next to the terminal. An open return pass costs 5 GBP. The N22 night bus runs between midnight and 4 a.m. Taxis wait at a rank next to the terminal, and cost approximately 10 GBP 20 GBP to the city centre, depending on traffic and time of day. Waverley, Edinburghs main railway station, can be reached by bus or taxi. Regular trains leave Waverley for Glasgow and most major destinations throughout Scotland and England. Getting around. The Apex City Hotel Edinburgh is in Grassmarket. Edinburgh city and the Lothian region are served by a good bus network. There are hop on, hop off stops for city bus tours throughout central Edinburgh. Black cabs are available from the streets. The historic centres cobbled streets are best explored by foot. Driving is not recommended for visitors, due to the complicated one way systems.
