Getting there. Taxis into the city centre cost approximately 15 EUR 16 EUR, and the journey time is 15 minutes. An airport bus departs for Florences Santa Maria Novella Station every 30 minutes. Single tickets cost 6 EUR. Terravision coaches travel to central Florence and Pisa Airport. Tickets cost 12 EUR and the price includes a one day pass for Florences city buses. Getting around. The hotel is on Lungarno Della Zecca Vecchia, within 750 metres of the Uffizi Gallery. Florence is compact and easily explored on foot. There are traffic restrictions in the city centre and parking is expensive. Bright orange buses operate throughout the city centre. Tickets are available at vending machines or from tobacconists. Tickets are sold based on length of time and are available for one, two or 24 hours. There is a taxi rank in front of Santa Maria Novella Station. Parking is available on site (surcharge).
Driving directions. From the motorway:
From the A11, take the A1 in the direction of Rome and exit at Firenze Sud.
After the motorway toll booth continue straight ahead until you reach a set of traffic lights.
At the traffic lights, turn left.
Continue on this road until you come across a road sign indicating that the road bears to the right. Turn right here.
At the first set of traffic lights, turn left and immediately left again.
Keep in the right hand lane and proceed along the road that runs parallel to the river for approximately 300 metres.
