Distance to the Pierre Loti Hotel is 18 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes drive.
Getting there. The hotel can arrange transfers from the airport (surcharge). Both airport terminals are connected to the metro system, which runs to the city centre. Single tickets cost about 1 TRY. The Havas Airport bus departs every 30 minutes for the main bus terminal and Taksim Square, in central Istanbul. Journey time is about 30 minutes. Bus number 96 runs between the airport and the city centre, and a shuttle bus runs to the port. Taxis wait outside Arrivals; fixed prices are in place and the fare to the city centre should be about 20 30 TRY. At night, there is a 50 percent surcharge. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Istanbuls extensive public transport system includes buses, metros (underground trains), trains, trams, sea buses, and ferries. Tickets can be purchased from main stops, stations, or kiosks prior to boarding. Istanbuls yellow taxis are reasonably priced, but travellers should ensure the meter is used. A cheaper alternative is to use a dolmus (minibus or shared taxi). Driving is not advised for visitors.
Driving directions. From the airport, turn right at the first intersection, and follow signs to Sirkeci/Sahilyolu.
On reaching a roundabout with a big fountain in the middle, turn left and follow the signs to Sirkeci.
Drive straight along the seaside road for approximately 17 kilometres.
Turn left at the first sign for Sultanahmet.
Go under the small iron railway bridge, then take the first left.
Continue for 400 metres and take the fifth turn on the right, at Kumkapi Police Station.
Continue for 500 metres and the Pierre Loti Hotel is on the right, opposite Eminonu Town Hall.
