Expert Tip. The city of Verona is the scene for many of William Shakespeares plays, and one of the citys most famous sights is the 13th century House of Juliet. The balcony where Romeo and Juliet are said to have declared their love for each other is still intact. Beside the entrance to the house is a bronze statue of Juliet, and on the walls lovers from all over the world have left their messages on small strips of paper.
