Location. The 19th century Empire Palace Hotel in Rome, Italy, is on a side street 400 metres from the shops and caf�s of Via Veneto and one kilometre from Villa Borgheses museums. The hotel is within two kilometres of the Trevi Fountain and Via Condottis shops. Termini main station is one kilometre away.
Hotel Features. Set in a neo Gothic palazzo, this renovated 1870s townhouse is centred around a courtyard with a 1500 year old Carrara marble fountain. The lobby features marble flooring, vaulted ceiling and African wooden ornaments. Moroccan leather chairs furnish the lounge.

Mediterranean and fish specialities are served in the Empire Palace Hotels wood panelled Restaurant Aureliano. Guests can dine inside, beneath Murano glass light fittings, or outside in the courtyard. The Blue Bar is set in the palazzos converted stables where original brick ceilings contrast with red velvet stools and Philippe Starck linen sofas. Live music plays nightly from April to October. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast.

From Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO):
Distance to Empire Palace Hotel is 35 kilometres, approximately 45 minutes drive.

Getting there. The Leonardo Express runs between the airport and the Termini train station in the city centre every 30 minutes. The station is one kilometre from the hotel. The journey time is about 35 minutes and single tickets cost 9.50 EUR. The Terravision shuttle bus runs between the airport and Termini station. Taxis to the city centre cost about 60 EUR, and taking a metered licensed taxi is advised. The hotel can arrange airport transport on request. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The hotel is on Via Aureliana. Romes historic city centre is easy to explore on foot, as many attractions are located close together. The city has an efficient public transport system, including trams, buses, suburban trains, and metro (underground). Tickets can be purchased from tobacconists and ATAC ticket machines, and should be bought prior to boarding. Single tickets cost 1 EUR, and are valid for 75 minutes, covering one metro trip and unlimited bus travel. Driving in the city centre is not advised for visitors. Valet parking is available close to the hotel.

Driving directions.From Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO):
Take the Autostrada towards Rome and follow the exit for GRA (Grande Raccordo Annulare) in the direction of Florence.
Take exit 8 for Roma Nord Salario Parioli.
Continue straight along Via Salaria to Piazza Fiume.
Turn right onto Via Sicilia and take the first left for Via Lucania.
Take the next right onto Via Boncompagni and the second left for Via Romagna.
Continue onto Via XX Settembre. Via Aureliana is the first right.
