Location. The South Seas themed Mirage Resort & Casino is located on the center of the Strip in Las Vegas, Nev. The hotel offers a tram to TI Treasure Island next door, and is across the street from the Harrahs Imperial Palace Monorail Station.
Hotel Features. A 54 foot volcano and lava inspired waterfall stand at the entrance to the Mirage Resort & Casino and a 20,000 gallon aquarium sits directly behind the front desk. The solarium off of the lobby features Kokomos, serving steak and seafood, and resembles a tropical rainforest with waterfalls and a lagoon. Comfort gourmet foods tempt palates at Stack, with a popular menu including tater tots and pigs in a blanket. Meat and seafood are seared on personal 500 degree hot rocks at Japonais. Electronic flowers bloom on interactive tables at Revolution Lounge, where pulsating lights flash and pounding music includes originals, remixes and covers of Beatles songs. At Revolutions entrance, Abbey Road Bar features Yellow Submarine inspired portholes with Beatles archive footage. The hotel features a full service spa and Kim V? Salon. The hotels custom built theater with 360 degree seating and panoramic video projections features Love, a Cirque du Soleil production celebrating The Beatles. Siegfried & Roys Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat displays white lions, white and striped tigers, an Asian elephant and Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. DJs spin tunes and the bar serves cocktails and frozen fruit at Bare, the European bathing area. Grottos and waterfalls dot the coconut grove garden, where a lagoon style pool, a spa tub, and a childrens pool reside.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms feature marble entryways, wall length mirrors and partially canopied beds. Marble and gold accented bathrooms feature make up mirrors, glass enclosed showers, AquaLime toiletries and a separate vanity. French doors showcase Strip views in select guestrooms, that offer mirrored wardrobes; separate living, dining, and powder rooms, and walk in closets.
Expert Tip. From 7 p.m. until 12 a.m. on the hour, the hotels volcano explodes, the earth shakes, flames shoot into the sky, and smoke and fire spray 100 feet above the hotels lava like water.
Renovation Notice:
The hotels small pool is closed for renovations. No estimated completion date is available. The main pool remains open. The hotel is undergoing renovations to select guestrooms. The estimated completion date is December 31, 2008. The tiger habitat is permanently closed and a new restaurant will open in its place in May 2008. These dates are subject to change.
