A picturesque Tudor building, Alveston Manor is set in its own five acre gardens which boast an ancient cedar tree, said to be where the first performance of Shakespeares A Midsummer Nights Dream was given. The 113 guestrooms are decorated in warm tones of cream and beige and include satellite television, minibars, tea and coffee making facilities, and complimentary bottled water.
Lunch and dinner are served in the Manor Grill while lighter snacks are available in the traditional wood panelled bar, which features an open fire, 16th century wall tapestry, and large leaded windows which overlook the garden. The hotel has a terrace at the rear providing a sun trap in spring and summer where guests can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the well kept lawns and gardens; al fresco lunches and barbecues for groups can be organised here. Guests can indulge themselves with the spa facilities, including six beauty treatment rooms, an 18 metre pool, steam bath, sauna and gym. There are 10 fully equipped rooms for meetings and conferences, and banqueting facilities are also available. Room service is available around the clock and staff at the 24 hour front desk can provide information on local sightseeing opportunities. Free parking is available on site. The hotel is within a mile of famous attractions such as Shakespeares birthplace and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The train station is one mile away and Birmingham Airport (BHX) is 32 miles away, a drive of around 40 minutes.
