Getting there. The metro connects the airport with Newcastles central train station. Trains depart every seven minutes and the fare is 2 GBP for a single journey. Direct trains from Newcastle run to Carlisle Citadel Station, which is adjacent to the hotel. Taxis are available outside the terminal, and cost about 80 GBP to Carlisle. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Central Carlisle can be explored on foot. Buses run throughout the city, and the main railway station is next door to the hotel. A car would be useful for excursions in Cumbria.
Driving directions. Depart Newcastle Airport turning right toward the B6918.
Turn right at B6918.
Take first exit at roundabout on to Callerton Lane.
Take second exit at roundabout.
Take a left toward B6324/Stamfordham Road.
Turn left at B6323/Ponteland Road, and cross one roundabout.
Take the third exit at the next roundabout on to the A69 ramp.
Go through two roundabouts and turn left to stay on the A69.
Continue on the A69 to Carlisle.
Go through the final roundabout onto Warwick Road.
Turn left at the end of Warwick Road onto The Crescent, keeping right.
Court Square is straight ahead.
