Hotel Features. Housed in a former mansion, the Hotel Regency is found in a quiet residential area, overlooking the tree lined Piazza DAzeglio. Inside, the hotel is filled with fresh flowers, tapestries and antiques. The hotel also has its own private garden.
Hotel Regency offers guests a complimentary breakfast buffet at its restaurant. Decorated with red walls and crisp white linen over gold damask, the restaurant looks onto the gardens and offers a menu of Tuscan specialities. In summer, guests can dine alfresco. The restaurant also offers the wood panelled Zodiac Room, which can be hired for private dining. Room service is available 24 hours.
Guests have discounted access to a nearby fitness centre. Staff at the 24 hour front desk are available to assist guests with sightseeing information and can arrange child care, shoeshine and laundry services.
Guestrooms. Each of the 34 guestrooms at the Hotel Regency are individually dressed in the style of a classic Florentine villa. Furnishings include antiques, mirrored panels, drapes and tapestries. All have dial up Internet access, bathrobes and slippers and marble bathrooms.
Expert Tip. The antique forte piano in the lounge is an early precursor to the pianoforte, and as such a rare treasure, even in Florence. Although it is now out of tune, the exquisite craftsmanship can still be appreciated.
