Getting there. Manchester Airport train station is linked to all terminals by a moving walkway. Every hour, up to six trains leave the airport for Manchester Piccadilly station in central Manchester. A single ticket costs 2.65 GBP, and the journey takes about 20 minutes. Skyline bus number 43 runs to the Piccadilly Gardens bus terminal every 10 minutes, and the fare is 2.40 GBP for a single ticket. Taxis to Manchester city centre cost about 16 GBP 18 GBP. Getting around. Central Manchester is easy to explore on foot, and there are many pedestrianised areas. An extensive bus system operates throughout the city during the day and at night. Trams run to The Lowry, Old Trafford, Bury, Eccles, and Altrincham. Taxis can be hailed on the street.
