Location. The historic NH Barbizon Palace hotel is located in the centre of Amsterdam, Holland, in the citys main financial and shopping area. The hotel is opposite Amsterdam Centraal train station and less than one kilometre from busy Dam Square.
Hotel Features. Set behind the restored facades of 19 traditional buildings, most dating from the 17th century, the NH Barbizon Palace hotel is linked by an underground passage to the famous St. Olofs Chapel. The spacious tiled lobby sits beneath a glass atrium and is decorated with steel blue pillars and Dutch paintings.

The hotels Michelin starred Restaurant Vermeer serves gourmet French cuisine in a 17th century setting. Walls are clad in traditional blue and white Delft tiles and the floors are marble. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in Hudsons Restaurant and Terrace, which has a nautical theme. This relaxed restaurant serves fresh seafood, snacks and drinks. Room service is available 24 hours a day.

Driving Directions:
From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS):
Distance to NH Barbizon Palace hotel is 20 kilometres, approximately 25 minutes drive.

Getting there. A railway station is located under Schiphol Plaza, in the central hall of the terminal. Every 15 minutes a direct train runs to Amsterdam Central Station, just across the canal from the hotel. One way tickets cost 4 EUR. Approximate travel time is 15 minutes. The Airport Shuttle offers a regular daily service between the airport and the hotel. Travel time is 45 60 minutes and tickets cost 10.50 EUR. Shared Schiphol Travel taxis can be found outside the arrivals hall. The cars can seat up to eight people and cost around 19 EUR per person. Private taxis into Amsterdam city centre cost approximately 40 EUR. Public buses frequently run to Amsterdam and other destinations. Buses 197 and 370 go to central Amsterdam and Amsterdam Zuid. Getting around. The hotel is in the centre of Amsterdam, opposite the central station. Amsterdam can easily be explored by foot. However, there are convenient bus, tram and metro services running through the city and outside areas. Cycling is also a popular way to see Amsterdam. There are taxi ranks at the central station. Driving within the canal ring is discouraged.
